
Poverty stricken farmers have no transportation to get their children to the CLIA school. Buses like the one pictured are desperately needed for transportation. These “Love” Buses seat 22 students and will be also used for transportation of CLIA mission teams from the US and volunteers from other parts of the world.
One bus has recently been acquired by CLIA for $20,000. The interest on the lease of the bus is very high and CLIA would like to purchase the bus in full as soon as possible.

There is an ongoing need for water wells to be constructed for drinking and irrigation with pumps and pipes. One well services 10 farmers and their village–to date over 50 wells have been created to helped close to 500 highland farmers living below the poverty level. CLIA continues to find the most needy farmer to help with a well and agriculture aid such as seeds, money, and fertilizers.

A modern community center building is needed for the Village of Abhona where the boys’ and girls’ homes are located. After 11 years of working with the community a church is needed. The building will be used as the community center and will host community events, weddings, and school events. Tentative completion in August 2011

There is an ongoing need for building new village community centers without window or door fixtures so people are out of the elements. Other existing community centers need additions due to growth like the Paikhed Village Church. There are presently 85 churches representing over 50,000 villagers.
Currently foundations are completed for Jan Kosvan and Anderha Village Churches which construction will start with assistance of a US team in October 2010. Completion by September 2010.

The girls’ home in Abhona is in need of an industrial kitchen with modern equipment in an existing area of the building that is presently being used for storage. Currently the staff is preparing 375 meals a day over an open fire, which is costly, and inefficient. This kitchen will serve the girls’ and boys’ home located 100 yards apart.
Plans have been drawn up and sent to a carpenter for review. Lazarus, CLIA President in India, has applied to the local government for the permit to use propane gas as the fuel instead of wood. The next trip tentatively planned for January 2011 when a carpenter from the U.S. is able to lead the construction. Tentative completion date is expected by June 2011.
